Online paperwork after discussing the qualifications will determine which service (Apprenticeship, Internship, Mentorship, Entrepreneurship) will benefit your career.
Who’s qualified to join A.I.ME.?
This organization assists students who are in high school, college, and vocational school. The ages that are accepted are fifteen to twenty-five years old. This ten-year period is crucial in developing the future career of everyone. However, we do offer opportunities for middle students ages thirteen and fourteen in 7th and 8th grade early bird specials to prepare them for the future. For post secondary education young adults ages twenty six to twenty nine, assistance in post college, university, and vocational-trade school education is also something we offer assistance.
Small business owners pay a consulting fee for A.I.M.E. to find students who can fill the role as intern, or apprentice.
Businesses, educational institutions, and government offices/agencies can partner with A.I.M.E. to help create available opportunities for students for internships and apprenticeships.
Does this organization help you get jobs?
A.I.M.E. is the doorway to getting a job. For teenagers and young adults, that early experience in a form of mentoring and training will give that student that extra boost in their resumes. Therefore, A.I.M.E. is not a job placement agency.
Is this remote or in-person?
A.I.M.E. is both. We welcome both situations to be as flexible as possible.
How long is each program?
Depending on the required time frame each business and/or educational institution delineates in their contracts, there’s no official time frame for each program. It is all case by case, and what both the student and professionals are willing to do to commit to this program. Schools typically have their programs done on a semester basis three times a year. This is during the winter/spring, summer, and fall seasons.
What region does A.I.M.E. focus on?
A.I.M.E. is a Lehigh Valley organization that is in the state of Pennsylvania. Therefore, all Pennsylvania regions, including the Lehigh Valley, are of top priority. Nevertheless, students from all forty-nine other states are welcome to use our service. Our goal is to not be in a small bubble but to be available for all students throughout the country.
What are the requirements you need to join A.I.M.E.?
You must be a high school, college, or a votech student. If you have graduated high school, and are not planning on attending any educational institution, you must be employed or in a specialized job-training program. From an academic perspective, you must have a good academic standing.
We do offer early bird specials for middle school students in 7th and 8th grade only to prepare them for their high school and young adult careers. This age group will have workshop and volunteer opportunities only due to being below the age limit to enter the workforce.
A 3.0 or above GPA is recommended; however, we are willing to assist students who have GPA’s between 1.7 and 2.9. Nevertheless, if your GPA is under 1.7, you will not be qualified to receive services from A.I.M.E. However, we can assist in helping your student improve their grades to enter A.I.M.E. services.
In terms of employment, the student or young adult must have a good reputation at their respective employer. If your job performance is below standard, you will not be qualified for our services. A positive work ethic is a key to developing a future career.
Once a young adult, ages twenty six to twenty nine, has finished their college, university, vocational, trade, and technical educational pursuits, they can continue to work with us to help ease them in to the workforce and continue building support with growing their business.
Is payment needed for any of the current programs?
A.I.M.E. has service fees for each of the education programs. There is a nonprofit fee and a regular service fee. Some workshops, masterminds, and events have separate fees specific towards their program offerings. Memberships and partnerships have different fees attached.
What sort of payment do the programs accept?
Cash, check, and credit cards are accepted. You can donate on A.I.M.E.’s Cash App, Paypal, Zeffy, and Venmo accounts.
Do we receive payment for working in this program?
This depends on the type of internship or apprenticeship programs out there. Some may have paid opportunities, while others are treated as academic credit/voluntary work.
Would I have to provide myself with the necessities needed for this program, or will the program provide me with the equipment?
Since this organization is about assisting with career development, most things will be provided by A.I.M.E. and its services. Our partners and business supporters also assist with various needs and supplies.
Must I have prior experience to join the program?
No previous work experience is required since this program is about getting your foot in the door of a particular industry. However, you must be enrolled in an educational program (I.E. High school, college, vocational school), or if a high school graduate that is not attending college, must be employed to be qualified for our services. If you are out of high school and are not employed, you are not qualified to use A.I.M.E. services. We make it our goal to make sure that the individual has a steady career and a future goal to grow in their career choice.
Is there a deadline for applications?
Depending on the semester cycle and or school year, it is best to bring the application in before the start of the program year or semester. This means if your school year starts in September, applications should be delivered by the start of the summer season.
How and where do I apply for the program?

The purpose of the consolation meetings is to get to know the individual and where they are in their educational/career pursuits. If you have financial questions or inquiries about donations or sponsorships, our treasurer can reach out to answer your questions (finance@aimecareers.org). Is A.I.M.E. a certified counseling agency?
No. A.I.M.E. will direct you to local counseling agencies that are partnered with our agency.
Is A.I.M.E. a third-party recruiting agency?
We assist small to large businesses find interns or apprentices at educational institutions. A.I.M.E. does not recruit for traditional employment. Our goal is to be a doorway to a student’s future career and for the workforce to have a resource for finding students who could become future employees.
Do I need clearances to work with minors in the mentorship program?
Yes. You are training another person’s child to give that individual early experience of working in a particular field. You must follow the child labor laws.
Will A.I.M.E. endorse social/political causes to bring more political awareness to students?
A.I.M.E. is blessed to be in a country full of freedoms that are protected in the Constitution. With that said, due to the hostile political climate and strong political divisions, our organization will not endorse any social/political cause or candidate when working with students. It is our belief that all companies, whether for-profit or non-profit, that have nothing to do with the current political climate should focus on consumers from all walks of life and the community at large.
Any student that desires a career in politics, journalism, or social activism can choose any political party they wish to be associated with. A.I.M.E. is therefore not responsible for what political party or social cause students choose to focus on for their careers. The goal is for the student to receive the experience needed to grow in the world of political science or journalism.
