Who’s qualified to join A.I.ME.?

This organization serves students in middle school (7th and 8th grade only), high school, college, university, and vocational–technical institutes, as well as individuals who have completed post-secondary education. We support youth and young adults between the ages of 13 and 29, recognizing this critical stage as a pivotal period for career exploration, skill development, and long-term professional success.

Members of the local community—including families and friends, working professionals, and small business owners—pay a consulting fee to A.I.M.E. to connect with students who can serve as interns, apprentices, or participants in our membership programs. All consulting fees, memberships, and donations are reinvested to expand student resources and support meaningful opportunities for student growth and success.

Businesses, educational institutions, and government offices or agencies can partner with A.I.M.E. to help create meaningful internship and apprenticeship opportunities for students. Organizations may also choose to become corporate sponsors, supporting a variety of events, workshops, and other programs that advance student career development.

Does this organization help you get jobs?

A.I.M.E. serves as a gateway to career readiness rather than direct job placement. For teenagers and young adults, early exposure to mentoring, training, and hands-on experience provides a valuable advantage when building résumés and preparing for the workforce. As such, A.I.M.E. is not a job placement agency.

Is this remote or in-person?

A.I.M.E. offers both remote and in-person opportunities, allowing for flexibility to meet the needs of students and partners.

How long is each program?

The duration of each program varies depending on the requirements set by the partnering business or educational institution. There is no official time frame, as each placement is determined on a case-by-case basis, based on the commitments of both the student and the professional. Typically, school-based programs follow a semester schedule, offered three times a year—during the winter/spring, summer, and fall seasons.

What region does A.I.M.E. focus on?

A.I.M.E. is a Lehigh Valley–based organization located in Pennsylvania. In 2026, we are expanding into new regions to further our mission of connecting students with meaningful opportunities. We analyze each region’s economic, educational, business, and community structures to help students connect locally and build a stronger future. Additionally, A.I.M.E. is expanding into New Jersey, networking across central and southern areas, including Newark and the Jersey Shore. Our focus areas include:

Philadelphia Metropolitan Area: Bucks, Montgomery, Chester, Delaware, and Philadelphia counties.

Harrisburg/Hershey/Gettysburg Region: Dauphin, Cumberland, and Adams counties.

PA Dutch Country: Lancaster, Berks, York, and Lebanon counties.

Coal Mining Region: Carbon, Schuylkill, Columbia, and Northumberland counties.

Wyoming Valley: Luzerne, Lackawanna, and Wyoming counties.

Pocono Mountains: Monroe County.

What are the requirements you need to join A.I.M.E.?

To participate, you must be a student in 7th or 8th grade, high school, college, university, or a vocational–technical institute. If you have graduated from high school and are not pursuing further education, you must be employed or enrolled in a specialized job-training program. Students are expected to maintain good academic standing.

For 7th and 8th grade students, A.I.M.E. provides programs to help prepare them for high school and future career opportunities. This age group may participate in workshops and volunteer activities only, as they are below the legal working age.

A minimum GPA of 3.0 is recommended, but we are open to assisting students with GPAs between 1.7 and 2.9. Students with a GPA below 1.7 are not eligible for A.I.M.E. services; however, we can provide support to help improve academic performance and qualify for future participation.

For employment eligibility, students and young adults must maintain a good reputation with their employer. Those with below-standard job performance are not qualified for A.I.M.E. services. A positive work ethic is essential for developing a successful career.

Young adults aged 26 to 29 who have completed their college, university, vocational, trade, or technical education may continue working with A.I.M.E. to transition into the workforce or grow their business, receiving ongoing support and guidance to build long-term success.

Is payment needed for any of the current programs?

A.I.M.E. has service fees for each of the education programs. There is a nonprofit fee and a regular service fee. Some workshops, masterminds, and events have separate fees specific towards their program offerings. Memberships and partnerships have different fees attached.

What sort of payment do the programs accept?

Cash, check, and credit cards are accepted. You can donate on A.I.M.E.’s Cash App, Paypal, Zeffy, and Venmo accounts.

Do we receive payment for working in this program?

This depends on the type of internship or apprenticeship programs out there. Some may have paid opportunities, while others are treated as academic credit/voluntary work.

Would I have to provide myself with the necessities needed for this program, or will the program provide me with the equipment?

Since this organization is about assisting with career development, most things will be provided by A.I.M.E. and its services. Our partners and business supporters also assist with various needs and supplies.

Must I have prior experience to join the program?

No previous work experience is required since this program is about getting your foot in the door of a particular industry. However, you must be enrolled in an educational program (I.E. High school, college, vocational school), or if a high school graduate that is not attending college, must be employed to be qualified for our services. If you are out of high school and are not employed, you are not qualified to use A.I.M.E. services. We make it our goal to make sure that the individual has a steady career and a future goal to grow in their career choice.

Is there a deadline for applications?

Depending on the semester cycle and or school year, it is best to bring the application in before the start of the program year or semester. This means if your school year starts in September, applications should be delivered by the start of the summer season.

How and where do I apply for the program?

The purpose of the consolation meetings is to get to know the individual and where they are in their educational/career pursuits. Is A.I.M.E. a certified counseling agency?

No. A.I.M.E. will direct you to local counseling agencies that are partnered with our agency.

Is A.I.M.E. a third-party recruiting agency?

We assist small to large businesses find interns or apprentices at educational institutions. A.I.M.E. does not recruit for traditional employment. Our goal is to be a doorway to a student’s future career and for the workforce to have a resource for finding students who could become future employees.

Do I need clearances to work with minors in the mentorship program?

Yes. You are training another person’s child to give that individual early experience of working in a particular field. You must follow the child labor laws.

Will A.I.M.E. endorse social/political causes to bring more political awareness to students?

A.I.M.E. is blessed to be in a country full of freedoms that are protected in the Constitution. With that said, due to the hostile political climate and strong political divisions, our organization will not endorse any social/political cause or candidate when working with students. It is our belief that all companies, whether for-profit or non-profit, that have nothing to do with the current political climate should focus on consumers from all walks of life and the community at large.

Any student that desires a career in politics, journalism, or social activism can choose any political party they wish to be associated with. A.I.M.E. is therefore not responsible for what political party or social cause students choose to focus on for their careers. The goal is for the student to receive the experience needed to grow in the world of political science or journalism.
